Sustainable Stays
Our lodge is eco friendly. We have a recycling rubbish system, composting, sola heated hot water and an environmentally friendly septic tank. We collect the rain water.
There is an option for guests to add to our native tree planting project. We have planted over 3000 native trees and shrubs. Guests are invited to participate in this project, if they wish.We are members of the Coromandel Sustainable Tourism Group
The Coromandel Sustainable Tourism Group
The Coromandel Sustainable Tourism Group is made up of local tourism operators who recognise the importance of improving their sustainable business performance and protecting the valuable resources we have in our region.
Members participate in formal sustainability reviews and must be making visible efforts to reduce water and energy useage while minimising waste and pollution. Their contribution to the local community and conservation efforts are also taken into consideration. These businesses have an action plan in place to continue their efforts and are actively implementing and reviewing these on a regular basis with the assistance of a Sustainable Tourism Advisor.
If you wish to support participating operators, you can recognise The Coromandel Sustainable Tourism Group members in this guide by looking for the logo.
